Healthcare Ready Announces Two New Directors

WASHINGTON, D.C. – August 11, 2016 – Healthcare Ready announced today the appointment of Dr. Matt Minson and Greg Halvacs to its Board of Directors. Minson and Halvacs bring outstanding expertise and experience in healthcare preparedness and response, and global supply chain security.

 

“Matt’s experience shaping influential public health preparedness and response policy at every level and Greg’s decades of thought leadership and innovation in supply chain security bring invaluable perspectives to our board,” said Executive Director Emily Lord. “Their complementary public and private sector expertise will be instrumental as Healthcare Ready works to build healthcare resilience, and I am grateful for their willingness to serve in this capacity.”

 

Dr. Matt Minson is the Senior Advisor for Health Affairs for the Texas Engineering Extension Service and at the Texas A&M University Health Science Center, and author of the award winning series on consumer health titled Prepare to Defend Yourself. He additionally serves as the Medical Director for Texas Task Force One, FEMA-USAR at Texas A&M University. Previously he served as the Senior Medical Officer for Strategic Initiatives at Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) where he led the creation of the National Health Security Strategy as well serving as a liaison to the White House Interagency Policy Committee for First Responder Protection, Biodefense, and Chemdefense. He also served as the Director of Office Preparedness and Response at the State of Maryland’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Prior to that he was the Director of the Office of Emergency Management and Medical Review at the Harris County Dept. of Health. Dr. Minson has enjoyed a broad deployment history with notable entries of the World Trade Center Attacks, numerous hurricanes including Katrina and Rita, The Columbia Shuttle Recovery, the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill Response and the West, Texas explosion.

 

Greg Halvacs is the Senior Vice President and Chief Security Officer of Cardinal Health. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of asset protection for over 500 locations in 60 countries, business resiliency and Global Real Estate. He has over 30 years’ experience in supply chain security including as Senior Director of Corporate Security of Kraft Foods, and as the Director for Risk and Safety of Raytheon Data Systems. He served as Member of Technical Advisory Board of Riskwatch, Inc. and as the Chairman of the Agriculture & Food Security Council within ASIS and is a member of the Board of Advisors for CSO: Executive Council. He is also a member of the International Security Management Association (ISMA) and Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) with the Department of State.
