Kamelah Jefferson is a Senior Research Analyst at Healthcare Ready where she provides research, analysis, and response support for programs specific to health and cyber security, and healthcare system-level preparedness and response.
As a previous healthcare emergency manager Kamelah brings a combination of real-world experience having worked for local organizations and state agencies. She’s led emergency management programs for trauma centers, acute care hospitals, and spearheaded the development of the second largest regional healthcare coalition in Maryland. Prior to joining Healthcare Ready, Kamelah served as a Senior Public Health Preparedness Analyst providing contract support to the Department of Health and Human Services, Assistance Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) Technical Resources, Assistance Center, Information Exchange (ASPR TRACIE) program. In this role, Kamelah supported the development of numerous innovative guidance documents, trainings, and tools to improvement readiness, response, and recovery capabilities. She strives to provide holistic and practical approaches to building and maintaining resilient healthcare organizations.
Kamelah holds a B.S. from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Masters of Public Health from Drexel University’s Dornslife School of Public Health.
