Healthcare Ready understands that the complexity of the healthcare supply chain is amplified during emergencies. We work with the private sector (manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, and providers) to identify ways to strengthen the supply chain. We also convey the importance of the supply chain and key considerations to avoid delays in deliveries to the public sector.
Learn about the products, components, and obstacles within the healthcare supply chain in our whitepaper, Inside the Healthcare Supply Chain: How Owners and Operators Create a Global Network for Medical Products. Or download our infographic from our blog, What is the Healthcare Supply Chain?
For a look at how the healthcare supply chain adjusts during public health events, man-made hazards, and natural hazards, check out our Disaster Healthcare Supply Chain Fact Sheet. This fact sheet provides an overview of the emergency planning and response considerations for all hazards.

Region V for Kids Supply Chain Assessment
Region V for Kids is a Pediatric Disaster Care Center of Excellence (COE) funded by the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR). The consortium, which is made up of 10 hospitals from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin, serves as a public-private partnership and focuses on building upon existing foundations in pediatric clinical care and emergency management.
In 2022, Healthcare Ready, in partnership with Region V for Kids, conducted a supply chain
assessment to evaluate regional supply chain practices amongst pediatric hospitals and health systems within the Region V for Kids consortium. The study sought to identify changes made to supply chain resiliency plans during the COVID-19 pandemic and provide recommendations to strengthen supply chain practices. An Executive Summary of our findings can be found below.

Heros of the Supply Chain
In a globalzing, increasingly interdependent world, Healthcare Ready considers the ways that supply chains differ, especially across countries (or even at the local level). Most notably, we completed an analysis of efforts to improve and navigate potential bottlenecks in the global supply chain across several countries.
