Response
Healthcare Ready is currently MONITORING for potential impact of Hurricane Lee. We are monitoring supply chain needs and community impact with the assistance of our private and public sector partners.
Overview
- As of Thursday, September 7, Hurricane Lee currently, is tracking north of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. If the storm continues its projected path, it is likely that Puerto Rico will avoid any severe impacts.
- As we approach the weekend, it will be critical to monitor the path of Hurricane Lee as the storm conditions are prime for it to become the first Cat 5 storm this year.
- Hurricane Lee could potentially impact Florida and the east coast if it continues heading towards the US mainland versus curving back out towards the Atlantic.
Healthcare Ready's Role during Hurricane Lee
Healthcare Ready works to monitor and evaluate the situation around the damage and provide analysis of its implications. We aim to provide information across sectors to supply information to all parties involved or impacted. Healthcare Ready is focusing efforts on highlighting challenges and supporting solutions to these challenges from the damages.
A port of monitoring during this time is through Rx Open. Rx Open provides information on the operating status of healthcare facilities in areas impacted by a disaster. When the map is active for an event, users can use the Facilities map to search for individual facility status such as pharmacies, community health centers, and dialysis centers.
